UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA'S LARGEST HIKING CLUB FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS

ABOUT US

The Greenville Natural History Association (GNHA) has been promoting the enjoyment of the outdoors and protection of the natural environment since 1968. Founded by a group of nine amateur naturalists, it has since grown to include more than 700 members who enjoy hiking together—and sometimes camping, backpacking, biking and climbing—in the many beautiful parks, forests and wilderness areas that grace our region. Because we value the natural areas where we hike, GNHA members also participate in trail maintenance and teach and practice outdoor ethics, including the principles of Leave No Trace.  Occasional social gatherings, such as cookouts and holiday parties, round out the club’s schedule.

GNHA is a nonprofit organization led by a group of all-volunteer officers, directors and hike leaders.  Because of this, we are able to keep our costs and our dues very low. For just $5 per year, GNHA members have access to all club activities, including more than 20 guided hikes each month.
